Many people, today, mistakenly believe that, in a state of hypnosis, the subject is unconscious as we are when we are asleep. Some even point out that “Hypnos”, in Greek mythology, is the god of sleep. It was, actually, the Scottish surgeon James Braid who coined the term “hypnotism”. This, however, was an abbreviation of his original term “neuro-hypnotism”, which meant “sleeping nerves”. He used this term to describe the calming effect this state has on the nervous system. In fact, you occasionally experience this state during your waking hours and go through this state, every night of your life, seconds before you fall asleep.
Before you fall asleep at night, your thoughts slow down, and your conscious mind begins to clear. Then, moments before you lose consciousness (fall asleep), your body, in essence falls asleep first. During these brief moments your conscious mind is awake and clear. It is during this time that you can actually make life-altering changes and progress with your subconscious mind. This deep alpha state that you are in is referred to by some as the the “healing state” or the “empowering state”. Unfortunately, this window of opportunity lasts, usually, only a few seconds.
During your alpha-mind sessions, you will be able to experience this powerful and beneficial state for a longer period. Like during the moment you pass through every night before falling asleep, your normal internal conscious “chatter” will calm and your subconscious or “inner mind” (where your true power lies) will be open and receptive to your goals and life dreams! It will also allow you to clear out the subconscious blocks and obstacles that have been getting in your way for much of your life. Another benefit of Alpha Mind Coaching is that you will learn to take advantage of this healing and empowering state every night for the rest of your life!
