FAQ
Q: What is the difference between Alpha Sessions, hypno-sessions, hypnotherapy, hypnosis, etc.?:
A:

These terms are basically synonymous in that the individual is in the alpha brain-wave state. The only difference is that hypnotherapy uses the alpha state, or state of hypnosis, to  focus on helping you reach your goals, whether in the areas of performance, healing or empowerment.

Q: What exactly is hypnosis, and how can it help me?
A:

Many people, today, mistakenly believe that, in a state of hypnosis, the subject is unconscious as we are when we are asleep. Some even point out that “Hypnos”, in Greek mythology, is the god of sleep.  It was, actually, the Scottish surgeon James Braid who coined the term “hypnotism”.  This, however, was an abbreviation of his original term “neuro-hypnotism”, which meant “sleeping nerves”.   He used this term to describe the calming effect this state has on the nervous system.  In fact, you occasionally experience this state during your waking hours and go through this state, every night of your life, seconds before you fall asleep.

Q: Can I really achieve success receiving sessions over the phone?
A:

Yes, the vast majority of our sessions are done over the phone. You, as a client, get the same results as you would in person, and you are able to do so from the comfort, privacy and convenience of your own home.  Phone sessions have allowed us to work with clients in Canada, Mexico and throughout the United States.

Q: If this entire process can be conducted over the phone, Why don’t I just go ahead and purchase Hypnosis CD’s and listen to them whenever I feel like it?
A:

CD’s do have some benefit, and you will receive one as a supplement to your program. However, they are not interactive, and you don’t know if you’re at the right level during a session, and a CD can’t ask you for feedback during the process.  All programs come with a personal coaching element, which includes instructions and techniques unique to you and the goals you’re working to achieve.

Q: How will hypnosis help me lose weight?
A:

Have you noticed that the vast majority of people who lose weight get it back? The basic mechanics of weight loss are no mystery. Most of us know that we need to limit our intake of fatty foods, eat healthy portions of fruits and vegetables, exercise so that we burn off the calories we are ingesting, etc.

Q: How does hypnosis help me quit smoking?
A:

Do you consciously choose to smoke, or do you have urges? In other words, are there times during the day when you have no cravings for a cigarette and you say to yourself, “I’m glad I picked up smoking and, if I had to do it all over again, I would choose to do so.”? This is doubtful.

Q: What is the difference between a Hypnotherapist and a Hypnotist?
A:

Both hypnotists and hypnotherapists are trained in the mind-body art and science of hypnosis. Hypnotherapists, however, reserve the usage of hypnosis for therapy and helping clients reach their goals.  Hypnotists, on the other hand, may use hypnosis for demonstrations or entertainment purposes, which purists argue goes against the intentions of the purposes of hypnosis.
